Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have officially announced Nioh 3 during the latest State of Play event. The action RPG returns with more intense battles, a darker story, and a fresh gameplay twist. The free limited-time demo is now available for PlayStation 5 users starting today until June 18.
Nioh 3 is set in Japan’s Sengoku period, a time known for chaos, war, and supernatural legends. You play as a young warrior on the path to becoming the next Shogun, determined to fight off deadly yokai (demonic creatures). The full story behind this journey will be revealed later, but the game already looks brutal, fast, and exciting.
The game introduces two distinct fighting styles—Samurai and Ninja. Samurai Style gives a classic Nioh experience with strong sword skills and intense face-offs. New moves like Arts Proficiency boost martial arts power, while Deflect lets you block attacks at the last second. Ninja Style is faster and more agile. You can dodge, jump, and surprise enemies with techniques like Mist (which leaves a clone behind) and Evade (for quick getaways). Ninjas strike from a distance and finish enemies with fast back attacks.
You can switch styles anytime based on the enemy or your playstyle. Some players may focus on just one style, while others may enjoy switching between both during fights.
Nioh 3 also adds a more open world experience. You can explore deep forests, mysterious villages, and dangerous arenas like The Crucible. The world is filled with secrets, surprises, and powerful yokai waiting to challenge your skills.
