This first section will stretch from National Highway 509 in Aligarh to Asroi, near the Hathras border while the second phase will connect Khandauli in Agra to the Yamuna Expressway.
A new Greenfield Expressway is planned to connect Agra and Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. The expressway will be about 65 kilometers long and will pass through Hathras district. Once completed, travel between the two districts will become much easier, taking just about one hour. This will save both time and distance, while also reducing traffic jams on existing roads.
For the construction of the expressway, 136 trees need to be cut. These trees have already been identified, and a report will now be submitted to the Supreme Court. Once approved, the construction agency will be required to plant ten times the number of trees cut. After this, a team from the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) will inspect the site and submit a report to the Supreme Court. Construction will begin once permission is granted.
The first phase of the expressway will cover 28 kilometers at an estimated cost of around Rs. 716.8 crore, while the total project is expected to cost approximately Rs. 1,536.9 crore.

The expressway will play a crucial role in improving regional connectivity, particularly for tourists visiting Agra, famed for the Taj Mahal. Additionally, it will serve as a more direct route for Aligarh residents travelling to key destinations like Delhi and Noida.
