NDPS Squad Arrests Man with 1.5 Kgs of Marijuana Worth Rs 42,000 in Waluj Area

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) squad arrested a man travelling in a state transport bus and seized 1.5 kgs of Marijuana and other articles worth Rs 42,000 from him near South City in Waluj area on Friday.

The NDPS squad received information that accused Jeevan Padamsingh Meher (35, Tapovan, Palshi, Sillod) was carrying Marijuana in a state transport bus. The squad arrested him and seized 1.584 kgs of Marijuana and a mobile phone in which the photos of samples of cannabis were found. He told the police that he had purchased the Marijuana from Shivaji Basant (Relgaon, Sillod) for selling it to addicts. A case has been registered against Meher and Basant with the Waluj MIDC police station.

The action was executed under the guidance of CP Praveen Pawar, DCP Prashant Swami, ACP Subhash Bhujang by PI Geeta Bagwade, Lalakhan Pathan, Satish Jadhav, Vijay Tribhuvan, Nitesh Sundarde, Kalyan Nikam, Chhaya Lokhande, Shilpa Telore, and others.
