Meanwhile, the estimate of this asteroid passing by Earth without any damage has now increased to 99.9961%. NASA said that this change in the probability of danger is based on new data regarding the asteroid and new information about its orbit.
The Torino scale rating, which is used to measure the potential threat posed by NEOs, had previously placed this asteroid on the highest threat list, which has now been moved to the zero threat list. This means that 2024 YR4 is no longer dangerous to Earth.
