Students have alleged that hostel warden Omprakash Argal regularly arranges for non-veg meals in the hostel mess, making many of them feel uncomfortable.
They said they have raised objections in the past as well, but the warden did not take their concerns seriously.
This time, the students shot a video of the event and shared it on social media, along with filing a written complaint to the District Collector and officials of the Tribal Welfare Department.
Students like Sonu and Mantosh claimed that holding a private party inside the hostel is a violation of discipline.
They added that the mess is meant for student meals, but it was being misused for personal events.
They also complained that separate utensils are not used for veg and non-veg food, which hurts the religious feelings of vegetarian students.
In response, warden Omprakash Argal denied all allegations, saying the event was organised on students’ request and that paneer dishes were arranged for those who do not eat meat.
He said it was a voluntary event, and no student was forced to take part.
The district administration is expected to look into the matter following the complaint.
