Giving information, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Cabinet has approved the project of an airport in Rajasthan and a ring road in Odisha. Both these projects will cost around Rs 10 thousand crore.

6-lane ring road proposed for Odisha

The 6-lane ring road in Odisha will be 110.875 km long, for which a total of Rs 8307.74 crore will be spent. This is one of the largest road projects in India, which has been approved by the cabinet. This decision of the cabinet will be a big relief for Odisha. Also, the facility of transportation will become easier, which will also be beneficial for businessmen, and the economic condition of the country will be strengthened.

Rajasthan to get a new airport

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also announced a project regarding Kota Bundi Airport in Rajasthan. According to the information, the cabinet has approved a Greenfield Airport here. According to the plan, a 3200-meter-long runway will be built here. This airport will be spread over 1089 acres of land. After completion, this airport will cater to about 20 lakh passengers.

An investment of Rs 1507 crore will be made for this airport. According to the Union Minister, the land has been identified, and now the work will start very soon. The Union Minister said that from 2014 to 2024, the number of operational airports in the country has increased from 74 to 162.

Why a ring road is being built in Bhubaneswar?

The second project approved by the Central Government is the ring road for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Its cost is Rs 8307 crore. According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are burdened with traffic due to being adjacent to National Highway 16. There was a constant demand for a ring road to reduce this burden. Now a 6-lane ring road has been approved. It may take about 2.5 years to be completed.
