Meet On Bhopal Collector Guidelines On March 27; Proposed 18% Hike In Property Rate May Be Reduced |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The much-anticipated collector property guideline meeting will be held on Thursday to finalise new property rates for Bhopal. Amid mounting public objections, including concerns from MLAs and MPs, officials are now considering a reduction in the previously proposed 18% average increase.
Sources said that instead of a uniform 18% hike, some areas might see a minimum 5% increase. Initially, several localities were set for a 20% to 60% surge in property rates, with Ayodhya Bypass, BairagarhCheechli, Hoshangabad Road, Airport Road, Damkheda and Raisen Road among those expected to face significant price jumps.
With the new guidelines set to take effect from April 1, there has been a surge in property registrations, as buyers rush to complete transactions before the potential price hike. The district registration office has advised citizens, especially working professionals, to take advantage of extended registration hours to avoid crowds and ensure smoother processing.
60 objections so far Collector
Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh told Free Press that while the deadline for submitting objections to the 2025-26 property guidelines was initially March 23, offline submissions were accepted until March 24. A total of 60 objections and suggestions have been received so far. Singh said that a key meeting on Thursday will address these concerns and finalise the property rates, with the final draft set to be ready before April 1.
