Man Killed, Sister Injured As Their Car Hits Bus; Eight bus passengers suffers minor injuries

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Siblings heading for an exam in a car met with an accident in Rajgarh on Thursday morning, leaving the man killed and his sister injured, police said.

Talen police station in-charge Mehtab Singh Thakur said, the man and his sister were going in the car to Shujalpur to appear in an exam when their car collided with a private bus around 7.30 am on Shujalpur-Pachore road.

In the accident, eight bus passengers suffered injuries.  The deceased has been identified as Ankit Soni (25), the official said. His 20-year-old sister was admitted to a hospital in Shujalpur. The bus passengers, who suffered minor injuries, were provided first aid at a hospital in Talen, the officer said.

Five injured as SUV overturns after hitting 4 bikes on Chetak Bridge

Bhopal At least 5 people were injured when a speeding SUV overturned after hitting four bikers on Chetak Bridge on Thursday afternoon. The injured including those in the SUV have been admitted to the hospital and further investigations were being carried out in this connection, police said.

The accident led to traffic jam on the bridge for over half an hour; a crane was deployed to remove the damaged SUV. Police said that the car belonged to a trader who was also in the SUV with the driver.

According to reports, the SUV driver lost control on the steering and it first hit a scooty and then rammed into three other bikes. The SUV then hit the road divider and overturned. The two- wheeler riders along with the two persons in the SUV received injuries in the accident.

Locals rescued the people in the SUV and rushed them to a nearby hospital. The mishap caused a traffic jam on the bridge for over half an hour. Traffic police used a crane to remove the damaged SUV and cleared the traffic jam.
