Malayalam actor Shanawas passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025. He took his last breath at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Shanawas was the son of legendary Malayalam actor Prem Nazir. According to Manorama Online, the 70-year-old actor was undergoing treatment for kidney and heart-related diseases for the past few years. He was rushed to the hospital on Monday after his health deteriorated.

Shanawas started his career in 1981 with the Malayalam film Premageethangal, and later starred in some famous movies like Mazha Nilaavu, Ee Yugam, Maniyara, Neelagiri, Garbhasreeman, and others. Even though he starred in more than 50 movies, he failed to create an impact like his father. The actor was last seen in the movie Jana Gana Mana, which was released in 2022.

Reportedly, Shanawas had shifted to Malaysia with his Ayisha Beevi. He has two sons, Shameer Khan and Ajith Khan. Shameer tried his luck in acting, but failed, and now, reportedly, he is working in Malaysia, and Ajith is working in Australia.
