Police said the woman, a native of Baramati in Pune district, was lured by the accused on the pretext of a job offer at an arts centre at Ambajogai in Beed.
Maharashtra rape: In a shocking incident, women was allegedly gangraped by three men in Maharashtra’s Beed district after they lured the victim on the pretext of offering her a job. According to the police, the incident took place around six months ago, when the woman, a native of Baramati in Pune district, was lured by the accused on the pretext of a job offer at an arts centre at Ambajogai in Beed.
A senior official said a case was registered a few days ago upon the victim’s complaint, against the four accused, including a woman.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that around six months back, the accused lured her to Ambajogai town under the pretext of helping her secure a job at an arts centre. However, upon her arrival, she was assaulted and forcibly hauled to a lodge by the woman and two other persons, and later gangraped by three men, she alleged.
The victim also alleged that the accused also tried to force her into prostitution, but luckily, she recently managed to contact her mother, who rushed to Ambajogai, rescued her daughter and took her back to Baramati, a police official said.
The victim and her mother lodged a complaint at the Baramati police station, based on which a case was registered at the Baramati police station, which was transferred to Ambajogai Rural police station on Tuesday for further investigation, the police said, adding that further investigation in the matter is underway.
