Long March From Parbhani To Mumbai Demands Justice For Somnath Suryawanshi And Vijay Wakode |
A long march has been organized from Parbhani to Mumbai to press the demand for justice for the deceased Somnath Suryawanshi and Vijay Wakode. The long march arrived in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday. The agitators participating in the long march arrived at Chikalthana Chowk and passed through Dhoot Hospital Chowk, Mukundwadi, Cidco Bus Stand, Seven Hills, Akashwani Chowk, Sillekhana, Paithan Gate, Gulmandi, Bhadkal Gate, Milind College, and concluded at the Buddha Leni area in the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University area.
The participants stationed at Buddha Leni overnight and proceeded towards Teesgaon on Tuesday afternoon. The participants received a grand welcome at each chowk, and arrangements for their food and other needs were made. The citizens of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, numbering in the thousands, also participated in the long march. A grand welcome was received by the participants in a public meeting held at Kranti Chowk on the way. Later, a meeting was organized at the Buddha Leni area, where the Bhikhu Sangha and the Upasakas made arrangements for the food and other needs for the participants.
Somnath Sonawane was arrested during the Parbhani riots recently, and he died in police custody, while Vijay Wakode died while agitating for the desecration of the structure of the constitution in Parbhani. The activists demanded justice for the family members of Sonawane and Wakode. Thus, they organized a long march from Parbhani to Mumbai. The march will conclude at Mantralaya in Mumbai. The long march proceeded towards Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon and will station at Teesgaon in the night.
