On 3rd March (Tuesday) evening, a group of young Muslim men who reportedly came from a nearby mosque created unrest in the former Harrow Civic Centre parking lot in London, obstructing a Holi festival that was attended by hundreds of Hindus.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. A 14-year-old has been apprehended by the authorities regarding the occurrence.

Families, locals and dignitaries attended the celebration of Holika Dahan. The organiser, International Siddhashram Shakti Centre, mentioned that permission was already obtained from the local council. Afterwards, multiple civic leaders, including two serving mayors, council members, council portfolio holders and a commander of the London Fire Brigade were present at the occasion, demonstrating cross-party support for the community’s program.
However, the accused created a ruckus at the location. The captured footage featured shoving and scuffing as tensions intensified between the attendees and the intruding group. “A 14-year-old boy remains in police custody following an incident in Harrow. Police were called to reports of a disturbance at a civic centre in Station Road at around 20:50hrs on Tuesday. Police arrived on scene within minutes and arrested the boy on suspicion of affray shortly after 21:00hrs. No injuries were reported,” Harrow Online quoted a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
A person disclosed that the perpetrators approached the event and started interrupting it. Furthermore, trash cans were also hurled and abuses were heard before a fight erupted. Some people fled as cops were called to the area.
Leicester anti-Hindu riots
Hindus have long been a target of Islamists in the United Kingdom. This was illustrated by the attacks on Hindus in September 2022, where Muslim mobs unleashed violence against the community, utilising their religious symbols to identify their victims in Leicester. The assaults occurred following Hindu protests against similar acts of violence towards their community after the India-Pakistan Asia Cup match.
Islamists struck Hindus and their homes, prompting demands for action from the latter. However, the peaceful demonstration was also met with violence from extremists. The communal fire engulfed the streets while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and even Hindus were blamed as “Jai Shree Ram” was demonised instead of the bloodthirsty assailants whose crimes were sanitised.
