NHIDCL has been established in several states on the lines of NHI.

New Delhi: Within a short time, it will take just 6 hours by road from Katra to Delhi. The 9-hour journey from Jammu to Srinagar will be completed in 3 hours. The highway starting from Indore will take you directly to Hyderabad. In the next 2 years, around 25,000 kilometers of roads will be transformed from 2 to 4 lanes. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari presented the country’s roadmap in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, March 27.

Gadkari said that the road from Pune to Aurangabad (Sambhajinagar) is very important. It connects Western Maharashtra and Marathwada. Pune is a crucial city and the relationship of entire Maharashtra with Mumbai is similar to that with Pune. A new green alignment has been prepared from Pune to Sambhajinagar. A new highway worth 15 thousand crore rupees will be constructed from Pune to Sambhajinagar. The alignment is ready. This will reduce the journey from Pune to Sambhajinagar from six hours to two hours.

Gadkari mentioned that a highway is being built from Indore to Hyderabad and the work on this has begun. This highway will reach Nanded. After Nanded, it will be taken to Hyderabad.

On the question whether Kupwara-Karnah road and Bandipora-Gurez road will be given national highway status, Gadkari that the Modi government has focused on Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and the northeastern states, which have lagged behind in infrastructure. Work worth 2 lakh crore is happening in Jammu and Kashmir. 105 tunnels are being constructed. Asia’s largest Zojila tunnel is being completed at a cost of Rs 5.5 thousand crore. The BRO has also been assigned work in Kashmir.

National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has been established for Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and the northeastern states on the lines of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The journey from Jammu to Srinagar, which took 9 hours, will now take just 3 to 3.5 hours. One will reach Delhi from Katra directly in 6 hours.
