खेल जगत में अगर हादसों की बात करें तो यह इतिहास में पहला मौका नहीं है, जब फैन्स में अपनी टीम की जीत के जश्न के की दीवानगी में भगदड़ मची और उनके रंग में भंग पड़ गया हो. इतिहास में कई मौकों पर ऐसे हादसों की जानकारी मिलती है. इसके बावजूद न जाने क्यों आयोजक, सुरक्षा में तैनात होने वाली पुलिस, प्रशासन इससे सबक नहीं लेते हैं और वे ऐसे बड़े आयोजनों को भगवान भरोसे ही छोड़ देते हैं.

Bengaluru stampede: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday began hearing a case relating to a stampede near the Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. Eleven people died and 56 were injured in the incident on Wednesday, as a large number of people thronged to the stadium to participate in the RCB team’s IPL victory celebrations.

The case is being heard by a bench of Acting Chief Justice V Kameshwar Rao and Justice C M Joshi. Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty appeared for argument on behalf of the state government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident under the leadership of Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner.
