Rajya Sabha member Tejvir Singh asked whether the government has any plans to change the retirement age of central government employees. In response, the minister stated that there is no such proposal under consideration. Singh also inquired if there are any plans for employees who wish to extend their retirement age, to which the minister replied that there is no such plan either.

The Centre has made it clear that the government has no such plan to change the retirement age of the central government employees. Union Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions minister Dr Jitendra Singh clarified that there is no such plan. This information was shared in the Rajya Sabha through a written reply. 

The minister informed that the employees have options to take voluntary retirement. These options are available under Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021 and All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958.

The union minister said that there is no comprehensive policy to extend their retirement age, but if an employee fulfills the condition, he can opt for early retirement. An employee can opt for early retirement under Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021 and All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958.
