A few minutes ago, I tried accessing Reddit on my laptop, but it did not load. The page kept showing a message that said, “We encountered an error.” At first, I assumed it was a temporary glitch. I refreshed the page several times, but Reddit still did not open.
To confirm whether the issue was only on my end, I posted on X and asked users if Reddit was down. Within a few seconds, I started getting replies from other users. Many of them said they were facing the same problem. Some mentioned error messages, while others said Reddit was loading very slowly.
After that, I checked Reddit’s official status page at redditstatus.com. I could not find any incident or outage listed there. According to the status page, all services appeared to be working normally.
Update: Reddit has now acknowledged the issue and confirmed that a fix has been implemented

I then checked DownDetector to get a broader view. There, I noticed several user reports complaining about Reddit not working properly.

When such reports start appearing together, it usually means the issue is affecting a group of users, even if it is not a full outage.
