Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh said on Friday that the division had a good eco-system for industrial investment.

A favourable environment, resources, facilities, skilled human resources etc. were available here for setting up industrial units. Thus, a large number of investors were being attracted to the division for investment.

Presiding over a regional conference here, Singh said investors had expressed their desire to invest more than Rs 82,000 crore in the division and asked collectors of the division to identify the land for these investors. 

Indore collector Asheesh Singh along with collectors of other districts of the division, CEO of District Panchayat, officers of departments concerned and Gautam Kothari of Pithampur Industrial Organization were present in the conference.

The divisional commissioner asked all the collectors to mark the land in their respective districts as soon as possible, so that it could be allotted to the investors soon. He said that all the collectors should also encourage investors to set up industrial units at their own level.

He said that this year was being celebrated as the year of industry and employment.

In view of this, efforts should be made to set up as many industrial units as possible. CEO of MPIDC Rajesh Rathore briefed about industrial development in the division. He said that continuous efforts were being made for industrial development in the division.

In view of this, industrial units worth Rs 50,000 crore had been established in Indore district of the division so far, providing employment to about 1 lakh youth.

Similarly, industrial units with an investment of Rs. 1.20 lakh crore had been established in Dhar district, with an investment of Rs. 1500 crore in Khargone district, Rs. 162 crore in Barwani district and Rs. 1500 crore in Jhabua district. Efforts were on to establish industrial units in other districts as well.

It was said that the work of IT Park-3 and 4 in Indore and Pithampur Sector-7 would also be completed soon. Work was also underway on the Economic Corridor and Plug and Play Park at Barlai in the district.
