Indore (Madhya Pradesh): With a projected profit of Rs 88.12 cr, the Indore Development Authority (IDA) presented a Rs 1,508.88 cr budget for 2025-26 on Wednesday. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh highlighted that this budget focuses on new IDA schemes, traffic improvements, development of master plan roads, electricity, water, sewage, greenery, and air quality enhancement through green belts.

Additionally, provisions have been made for art and culture, education, and sports under non-planned expenditures. The 2028 Simhastha Kumbh preparations include prioritising flyovers on MR-11 and MR-12 master plan roads.

Two new Inter-State Bus Terminals (ISBTs) have also been proposed — one each on the Bhopal bypass route and the Dhar Road near Chandan Nagar. Additionally, a proposal has been made to shift Chhawani Mandi to Morod. Those at the meeting included Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma, Forest Officer Pradeep Mishra, Additional Collector Jyoti Sharma, and Joint Director of Town and Country Planning Department Subhashish Banerjee.

Major allocations 

* Rs 432 crore for road development

* Rs 242 crore for electrification

Key fluctuations from last year

– Road construction: Increased from Rs 275.90 crore (25.24% of last year’s budget) to Rs 432.27 crore (28.65%)

– Electrification: Increased from Rs 73.47 crore (6.72%) to Rs 242.94 crore (16.10%)

-Flyovers: Increased from Rs 196.50 crore (17.97%) to Rs 198.80 crore (13.18%) Underground services: Increased from Rs 44.25 crore (4.05%) to Rs 133.37 crore (8.84%)

-Deposit work: Reduced slightly from Rs 123.20 crore (11.27%) to Rs 122.70 crore (8.13%)

-Building construction: Increased from Rs 56.15 crore (5.14%) to Rs 103.95 crore (6.89%) -Horticulture development: Increased significantly from Rs 4 crore (0.37%) to Rs 38.70 crore (2.56%)

ISBT in final stages

The ISBT construction on the Super Corridor covering 8.68 hectares is in itsfinal stage, with 95% of the work completed. Rs 15.50 crore has been allocatedfor the remaining work, which is expected to be completed within this financialyear. This ISBT will be integrated with the metro rail, enhancing urbantransportation efficiency.

Senior citizen housing complex 

The IDA has constructed a fully equipped residential complex for senior citizensunder Scheme No. 134. The complex has 32 flats, a multipurpose hall, ameeting area, parking for 32 cars, a physiotherapy room, a 24-hour ambulanceservice, medical assistance, and eight commercial shops for daily necessities.The tender process for its operation and maintenance is underway.

Start-up park

A start-up park will be developed in three phases: 

Phase 1: Shopping mall, amenities, start-up offices, corporate offices, and a parking tower

Phase 2: IT Building Phase 3: Convention Centre and a 5-star hotel The project is expected to boost the city’s financial capacity, with Phase 1 scheduled for 2025-26.

The design has been assigned to Veritas Architects (Malaysia) and Mehta Associates LLP (Indore). The start-up building will feature three basement parking levels, four floors for the shopping mall, one floor for amenities, a service floor, and will stand 87.6 metre tall, making it the tallest building in Madhya Pradesh. The project will be completed in five years.

4 CM Rise schools 

To enhance education infrastructure, the IDA is constructing four CM Rise Schools, which are in their final stages and are expected to be completed in 2025. A Rs 46 crore allocation has been made for this project under deposit work.

Simhastha 2028 prep on

To ease traffic congestion for Simhastha Kumbh 2028, the IDA plans to complete the 8 km MR-12 road linking the bypass to Ujjain Road. It will construct a six-lane railway overbridge on MR-12, and also build a six-lane high-level bridge over the Kanh river.

* Rs 10 crore allocated for the development of Morod Anaj Mandi to facilitate farmers.

* Rs 25 crore allocated under PM Awas Yojana 2.0 for economically weaker sections.

* Renovation of a Smart Anganwadi and Smart Primary School.

* Restoration of Indreshwar Mahadev Temple and Tulsidas Ram Temple.

* Two new ISBTs are proposed on Bhopal Road and Dhar Road.

*  New building for Robert Nursing Home under deposit work.

* Beautification of Tigaria Badshah Lake near Scheme No. 166 on Super Corridor.

* Development of Riverfront DPR and urban development near ISBT

Cultural & educational initiatives

* Rs 25 lakh allocated for Ganesh Visarjan Jhaanki, Ahilya Utsav, Republic Day celebrations, and the Lata Mangeshkar Award.

* Rs 70 lakh allocated for Pritamlal Sabha Graha under Ahilya Library, renovation of Deolalikar Art Gallery, budget for expanding music education in schools and auditorium construction at a government college under non-planned expenditure.

* Rs 1.5 crore allocated for the renovation of Tulsidas Ram Temple under deposit work.
