Indore Crime Branch Nabs 2 Drug Peddlers With Brown Sugar Worth ₹2 Lakh In Indore | Representative Picture
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indore Crime Branch arrested two drug traffickers and seized brown sugar worth ₹2 lakh, police reported on Saturday.
According to the information received, the accused were on their way to deliver brown sugar to a person on a motorcycle when they were caught.
Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya had received a tip-off that two youths were planning to deliver brown sugar to someone in the Shivajinagar area of the city.
Acting on this information, he dispatched his team to the location. The team cordoned off the area and apprehended both suspects. A total of 14 grams of brown sugar was seized from them.
The accused have been identified as Shubham Malaiya, a resident of Chatripura, and Aman Narwaria, a resident of the Malharganj area of the city. Both work at a clothing shop in the Sitalamata market. Police said the accused are also drug addicts.
They used to procure brown sugar from Rajasthan and sell it in the city at higher prices, while also consuming it themselves. The motorcycle used in the crime was also seized by the Crime Branch. The accused have been booked under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act.
Officials stated that Shubham already has half a dozen cases registered against him.
It is noteworthy that the Crime Branch has been continuously cracking down on drug suppliers and peddlers, and has so far arrested hundreds of accused with drugs worth crores of rupees.
