IndiGo Flight Cancelled Update: Amid the ongoing massive disruption in the Indigo Airlines flights, the Civil Aviation Ministry has taken a proactive decision on Friday. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has placed the Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) orders into immediate effect. The ministry stated that the decision has been taken for the convenience of the passengers without compromising air safety. The decision will help flyers, specially senior citizens, students and patients who depend on air travel for essential needs.
IndiGo Flight Cancelled: What Did The Civil Aviation Ministry Say?
The ministry stated that several operational measures have been taken and imposed in order to restore regular airline services. The Ministry expect that the flight schedules will return to normalcy by Sunday, December 7.
However, the complete restoration of services will be achieved within the next three days.
IndiGo Flight Cancelled: Civil Aviation Ministry On Ticket Refund?
To support passengers, the Ministry has instructed airlines to provide regular, accurate updates through enhanced online information systems. The ministry stated that, in a flight cancellation situation, airlines will issue full refunds without passengers needing to request them.
- Flyers who are stuck at the airports due to the disruptions and prolonged delays will be provided with hotel accommodation arranged directly by the airlines.
- Special priority will be given to senior citizens and people with disabilities.
- People with special needs like senior citizens and people with disabilities, will be provided with lounge access and every possible assistance.
- Refreshments and essential services will be provided to all passengers affected by delayed flights.

- The Central Government is to institute a high-level inquiry into this disruption. The probe will focus on – what went wrong at Indigo, determining the accountability.

Indigo Flight Cancelled: Disruptions Hit Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad Airports
Thiruvananthapuram airport officials stated that Indigo had scheduled 22 domestic flights for today – 11 arrivals and 11 departures. Additionally, four international operations including – two arrivals and two departures, are also planned.
Officials stated that the six cancelled domestic flights included – three arrivals and three departures, these flights will operate on the Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru sectors.
The disruption has also impacted the Ahmedabad Airport. The airline cancelled 12 flights 12 am and 6 am today. The disruptions at multiple airports reflect ongoing operational challenges faced by the airline in recent weeks.
What Are Indigo’s Three Lines Of Action?
- The airline has sent messages to passengers for better communication. It has also shared detailed posts on social media platforms informing about latest update, refunds, cancellations and other customer support measures.
- Indigo requested flyers not visit airports, as notifications were sent.
- The decision of cancellation was taken for Friday as to align crew to be where they need to start afresh from today.
IndiGo Flight Cancelled: When Will Indigo Services Get Normal?
As per IndiGo, some flight operations will normalise in the next 48 hours. “Our teams are working around the clock to ease customer discomfort and ensure operations stabilise as quickly as possible,” the airline said.
DGCA stated that it will reduce flights from December 8, assuring that flight operations will be fully restored by February 10, 2026.
