Its speed is very high and hence it’s very difficult to engage it.
New Delhi: Since the Pahalgam terror attack, fear regarding India’s action has been continuously present in Pakistan. Despite this, its provocative actions are not diminishing. For 11 days, there has been firing on the borders and, for the second time in just a few days, Pakistan is trying to intimidate India with missile testing. According to recent reports, if a war situation arises, Pakistan, which is struggling with an economic crisis, doesn’t even have enough weapons and ammunition to sustain a week of fighting. On the other hand, India possesses highly advanced and lethal weapons that can keep Pakistan down. One of them is the Rampage missile.
The ‘Rampage missile’, capable of ground strikes from the air, has now become a part of the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy fleets. The special thing is that this lethal weapon is available only to India and Israel. This missile, which can completely obliterate enemy positions from the sea, could significantly change war strategies in the coming times.
The Rampage missile has been jointly developed by Israeli Aerospace Industries and the Israeli defense firm ELBIT. Its speed is so high that it can evade radar and strike directly at the target. This missile is capable of performing highly accurate strikes up to a distance of about 250 kilometers. Notably, it can be launched from fighter aircraft like the Su-30 MKI, thereby strengthening both India’s Air Force and Navy.
When talking about the special features of this missile, it has supersonic speed. The speed of Rampage is far greater than the speed of sound, giving the enemy no time to react. Its radar-proof attack is another special feature. It is not hindered by electronic jamming, meaning the enemy’s defense mechanisms fail.
It has the power to penetrate walls, so whether it is bunkers, airbases, or weapons depots, these missiles can easily destroy anything. The low cost is also a highlight of this missile. The cost of the Rampage missile is relatively low, but the impact is devastating for the enemy. The Indian Air Force and Indian Navy have placed the Rampage missile on their MiG-29 and Flying Boat aircraft.
