New Delhi: Since Pakistan became a new country separate from India in 1947, the two nations have remained sworn enemies. There have been several wars between India and Pakistan. Hardly any other neighbouring countries in the world have seen as many wars as these two have. Despite suffering multiple defeats at the hands of India, Pakistan has not learned its lesson.

On February 14, 2019, in Pulwama, Kashmir, the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out a suicide attack, martyring 40 CRPF personnel. In retaliation, India conducted an air strike on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s bases in Balakot, located in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, destroying the terrorists’ hideouts and killing several terrorists. However, it should be noted that this was not the first air strike India had carried out on Pakistan.

The first air strike was conducted in 1965. Many people think that the Indian government carried out its first air strike on Pakistan in 2019. If you also believe this, then let us inform you that this is not the case. India conducted its first air strike on Pakistan not in 2019, but many years earlier during the war of 1965. It should be noted that the war between India and Pakistan started in August 1965.

Pakistanis attempted to infiltrate the Jammu Kashmir region. In response, the Indian Army initiated Operation Gibraltar. During this time, on September 1, 1965, the Indian Air Force conducted air strikes against Pakistan, targeting the outposts and supply lines of the Pakistani Air Force. This was the first air strike by India against Pakistan.

This was the largest air strike.
