India has blocked 16 Pakistan-based YouTube channels accused of spreading communally sensitive content after the Pahalgam attack. The action is taken as per the recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
These 16 channels are Geo News, Dawn, Raftar, Bol News, ARY News, Samaa TV, Suno News and YouTube channels of journalists like Muneeb Farooq, Umar Cheema, Asma Shirazi, and Irshad Bhatti are also blocked. Other banned handles are Uzair Cricket, The Pakistan Reference, Razi Naama, and Samaa Sports.
The channels had a total of 63 million subscribers.
