An IndiGo flight going from Kuwait to Hyderabad had to make an emergency landing in Mumbai on Tuesday after a bomb threat. The threat was sent in an email to Hyderabad Airport. The plane landed safely and has been taken to a separate, secure area so security teams can check it fully. Airport officials are now looking into the threat.
IndiGo has not yet released an official statement about the incident.
Security teams and emergency responders were kept on standby at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport as the flight, operating with the callsign 6E1234, prepared for its emergency landing.
According to FlightRadar24, the aircraft, an Airbus A321-251NX, took off from Kuwait at 1:56 am and landed in Mumbai at 8:10 am.
