New Delhi: Recent times have observed a significant increase in interest for spirituality, especially amongst the youth. However, with the accessibility of numerous spiritual texts and religious books claiming to offering spiritual knowledge, the essence of understanding the true meaning fades away in the absence of a right guide. In times when cultural values are consistently being diluted and integrity is frequently compromised, finding a spiritual guide feels like a real quest. So, how do we find a guru who possesses the right knowledge to guide us?

Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, President of Vrindavan Heritage Tower, helps you discover the answer to the ultimate question on how you can find the right Guru.

He highlights, “It’s a fact that we can be misled. We can go to somebody who is not well-informed and, due to their conditioning, they may misinform and mislead us. Hence, it is said that another important qualification of a guru is that he must be a representative of Krishna.”
The role of a spiritual master is more than imparting knowledge. It helps and guides seekers towards enlightenment of right wisdom.

Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa further explains, “In fact, what the Shastras recommend is that the spiritual master we must go to—the guru, we must seek—should truly be a representative of the divine. Such a person will not mislead or exploit us, nor will he be vulnerable to the frailties of human society and the exploitative tendencies of people. Only such a person can be the right spiritual master.”
