Foreign leaders in Europe, Canada and Asia sharply criticized President Trump’s announcement of 25 percent tariffs on imported cars and car parts. Nearly half of all passenger vehicles sold in the U.S. last year were assembled outside the country and experts say the tariffs could upend the global automotive industry.
