- 65% fear the effects of excessive smartphone use on mental health.
- More than half regret giving their child a smartphone too early.
HMD and Xplora have worked together with statistics in mind to create a safe yet functional smartphone.
The Fusion X1 comes with deeply integrated parental controls that are accessible through the Xplora app. Parents get following abilities.
- Block social media & internet browsing completely or apply custom restrictions.
- Track the child’s location every 20 seconds with safe zone alerts.
- Enable an SOS emergency call function for immediate assistance.
- Receive low-battery alerts to ensure kids aren’t unreachable.

The phone runs Android 14 and promises two major OS updates and three years of security patches.
The company has also incorporated its Fusion modular design, which was first seen in the HMD Fusion last year. This design allows users to customize their device with interchangeable “Outfits.” One can use the Gaming Outfit to enhance gaming performance, the Ring Light Outfit is ideal for content creators, and the Extended Battery Outfit provides extra battery life.
HMD Fusion X1 is priced at £229 and will be available for purchase starting May 2025.
