In a heart-wrenching incident that has moved animal lovers, a brave German Shepherd named Bentho sacrificed its life to save its owner, Shivam Bargaiya, a farmer who came under the attack of a tiger attack in Bharhut village near Madhya Pradesh’s Bandhavgarh National Park.

The dramatic event unfolded when Shivam and his dog were outside their house and they saw the wild cat approaching them. A tiger walked out from the forest and entered into their farm, leaving Shivam in fear. However, his dog showed courage to confront the wildlife. Without hesitation, Bentho sprang into action, barking loudly and facing the tiger.
The tiger initially tried to attack Shivam but the dog diverted its attention by barking. As the tiger turned to Bentho, the dog fiercely engaged in a fight with the big cat.
According to reports, the tiger pounced and dragged Bentho. It grabbed the Bentho in its jawas and carried it outside the village. The dog was severely injured during the tiger attack in Madhya Pradesh.
The tiger’s fangs had attacked deep into the dog’s neck and its claws had ripped into the dog badly.
Dog succumbs to injuries
Shivam told the Times of India that he found Bentho at his doorstep early morning the next day, after which he was rushed to a veterinary doctor, Akhilesh Singh. “Save him, he saved my life”, he pleaded the doctor.
Despite being rushed to a hospital and receiving medical treatment, the German Shepherd succumbed to its severe injuries a few hours later, leaving the family and villagers deeply mourning its loss and praising its brave act.
The incident took place on February 26. The German Shepherd fought in a heroic manner but laid down its life saving its master. This selfless act has gone viral on social media and left animal lovers in tears.
