Actress Pooja Bhatt voiced out her support for Saif Ali Khan and slammed ‘conspiracy theorists’ after netizens questioned a video of the actor walking cheerfully back home post the attack on him in Mumbai and the subsequent surgery. She appreciated Saif’s ‘grit’ and stated that people should be lauding him instead of the unnecessary scrutiny.

Reacting to the chatter around Saif walking back home normally post his surgery, Pooja told ETimes, “The graphic details of the stabbing that emerged in the media painted an image in people’s heads about Saif’s physical state. That image was perhaps not in sync with the visuals of seeing him walk out of hospital on his own two feet.”

She went on to say, “But don’t these very people forget that they lauded him for walking himself into the hospital as well? A man who checks himself into hospital in a wounded, traumatised condition surely has the grit to walk out of hospital on his own. We should be applauding this instead of resorting to being conspiracy theorists.”

Saif was stabbed multiple times after an intruder broke into his Bandra apartment in the wee hours of January 16 in an attempt to rob the house. As the actor tried to protect his family, the intruder attack him and fled, leaving him with six injuries.

Saif then hailed an auto along with his 8-year-old Taimur Ali Khan and his caretaker and rushed to the Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent an almost 2-hour-long surgery. A piece of knife was lodged in the actor’s back, near his spine, which was surgically removed.

On January 21, Saif returned home and he was seen walking inside with his guards, wearing a crisp white shirt and jeans. He also waved at the paps and thanked them for their speedy recovery wishes.
