Chandigarh: Having arrested two suspects and recovered the body of a missing physiotherapist from a 7-ft deep pit in a village of Charkhi Dadri district, the Haryana police has claimed to have solved the case of the murder of a district Rohtak native, who had gone missing since December last year.
Stating that the body of Jagdeep, 45, who worked as a physiotherapist at Baba Mastnath University in Rohtak, had been recovered from a 7-ft deep pit in village Paitawas of Charkhi Dadri district on Tuesday, the police said Jagdeep had been missing under mysterious circumstances since December last year.
The police held that Jagdeep had been living on rent in the house of one Kamla, in Janta colony, Charkhi Dadri for about three years. Stating Kamla’s daughter was married to one Rajkaran, police said that Rajkaran suspected that his wife had “relations’’ with Jagdeep.
Police held that Rajkaran with the help of Dharampal and Hardeep, then kidnapped Jagdeep from Rohtak on December 24, took him to Paitawas village where they brutally beat him and buried him alive in a 7-ft deep pit they had already dug.
Jagdeep’s family members lodged a missing report with police on February 3, last.
The police held that the case was cracked when its teams acted swiftly after it got a tip-off in the regard and arrested two suspects Hardeep and Dharampal on March 24. Following the questioning, the suspects duo took the police to the spot where they had buried Jagdeep alive.
Police said that search for the two other prime accused Rajkaran and Amit is on. Police said Rajkaran drove a pick-up van.
