Bhopal/Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): In a bid to strengthen law enforcement and curb crime, Gwalior police are implementing the Microbeat System, which will further include a “Sub-Beat” structure. This initiative aims to assign clear responsibilities to police personnel, ensuring swift action on crimes. The system designates constables and head constables for microbeats, while sub-inspectors (SIs) and assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) will oversee sub-beats.

Under this framework, immediate response and warrant execution will be streamlined. Additionally, from Sunday, Micro Patrolling will be introduced across the city to enhance security measures.

Clear Responsibilities for Quick Action

Police sources stated that the new system would ease station operations, improving efficiency for station in-charges and other officials. By giving constables and head constables charge of microbeats, local policing will become more accountable and effective. With a stronger local network, criminals are expected to stay away from these areas.

Micro Patrolling for Immediate Response

Each police station will deploy four micro patrolling teams, consisting of around 32 personnel working in shifts. While daytime patrols will have four teams each, eight teams will monitor at night for immediate action on crimes. A dedicated women’s team will also conduct patrols and checks.

How Will It Benefit Citizens?

With police personnel spending more time in designated beats, they will gain better knowledge of local crime patterns, ensuring swift action. The presence of microbeat officers will also deter illegal activities like drug peddling and other crimes.
