The state government has increased the dearness allowance of government employees by two percent. There is a wave of happiness among the employees after the government issued an order to increase the dearness allowance and the news of salary increase. This increase in dearness allowance by the Yogi government will be effective from January 1, 2025.
The state employees will get the payment of this increased dearness allowance along with the salary of April 2025. That is, the payment will come in the month of May. This increased dearness allowance will cost the government an additional Rs 107 crore in May 2025 and the payment of arrears will cost Rs 193 crore. At the same time, Rs 129 crore will be deposited in the GPF of OPS personnel. After this, from June 2025, the government will have an expenditure burden of Rs 107 crore every month.
Recently, the central government had increased the dearness allowance of its employees by 2 percent. The DA of these employees has increased to 55 percent. More than 1 crore central employees have benefited from this decision of the central government. After the increase in DA of central employees, now the state governments are also increasing the dearness allowance of their employees.
