Namo Bharat Train: In order to ease passengers’ problems, the Yamuna Authority has recently made a decision to run the Namo Bharat Train from Noida Airport to the New Agra Urban Center, aiming to provide better connectivity between the two major areas. Officials have prepared a proposal to lay a 131 km-long track along the Yamuna Expressway. The government aims to boost tourism in Agra city, and for this, Jewar Airport in Noida will be connected to the New Agra Urban Center. This move is also expected to open up new employment opportunities for the youth.

Preparations are in full swing to run the Railways’ latest Namo Bharat Train from Ghaziabad to Noida Airport. Notably, the train will run on 72.4 kms track and 22 stations will be built on the track.

A revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for New Agra’s zonal plan has been submitted to the central government following earlier objections. The plan proposes connecting the new airport, located 34 km from the Yamuna Expressway’s starting point to the New Agra Urban Center. The expressway itself is 165 km long.

131 km Rail Track

As per sources in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, A 131-km rail line connecting Noida Airport to New Agra is proposed for inclusion in an upcoming authority board meeting.  Approval would initiate the project’s implementation. Authorities are planning to develop the New Agra in about nine thousand hectares, making the area a hub of multi-modal logistics and transport. The area is suitable to house as many as 14 lakh families and will also generate employment for 8.5 lakh people.

Sources further stated that official looking after the project are paying extra attention to environmental and traffic planning in the development in New Agra. The new city development plan includes extensive green spaces along roadways, each sector featuring dedicated pedestrian paths and a seven-road network designed to manage diverse traffic flows, similar to a ring road system.  Tourism is a key component, with planned attractions including theme parks, high-end hotels, resorts, and modern convention facilities.

Focus On Increasing Tourism

Mega construction such as Disneyland and Universal Studios have been proposed to attract more tourism in the area. A theme park will be built with futuristic theme and virtual and augmented reality to give tourists a whole new digital and interactive experience. New Agra’s development aims to create a modern, thriving city offering housing, jobs, and a unique tourism and entertainment sector.

New Agra From Noida In 50 Minutes

Currently, the Noida and Agra route of 200 km, takes about three hours via Yamuna Expressway.

The Yamuna Expressway connects Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) to Agra, passing through Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, and Mathura. This route encompasses approximately 334 villages, all designated under the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. The total length of the Yamuna Expressway is 165 km, and the Jewar Airport is being constructed at a distance of 34 km from its zero point. It is planned to run the Namo Bharat train from here. Under this, YIDA has prepared a plan to lay a 131 km long rail track to New Agra city. On the other hand, the operating speed of the Namo Bharat train is 160 km per hour. In this context, it will take about 50 minutes to cover the distance of 131 km to New Agra.
