Bengaluru: German TikToker Noel Robinson, known for his impromptu street dance videos and signature afro hairstyle, shared on Instagram that he was briefly detained by police in Bengaluru for shooting a dance video without permission on Church Street, which attracted a large crowd during his performance.
In a video posted on his account, Robinson is seen dancing in traditional South Indian attire and a large number of spectators are present, enjoying and shooting videos, when cops arrive on the scene and escort him into a police vehicle. The video shows, officers appeared to act without giving him an opportunity to explain the situation.
“Officer took me to the car, I wasn’t even resisting, but he was kind of rough. I hit my head on the car as you can see,” Robinson can be heard saying in the video.
The video caption read: “This was my first time being taken to the Police Station!! I was scared they would send me to prison but luckily Everything was fine 😂🇮🇳! I’m Safe and I love India!! 🇮🇳”
Robinson explained in the video that the police treated him well at the station and released him after 15 minutes. He mentioned that he was fined for shooting without permission.
Despite the brief scare, Robinson appeared to take the incident in good humour and reaffirmed his love for India.
“Don’t be sorry guys! This could have happen in every Country! It’s Not about India!! One Little experience like that won’t Take away my love for India,” he said in the comments section.
The video has received 405,493 likes in less than 24 hours.

Earlier in the week, German influencer Younes Zarou was also briefly detained on Church Street for shooting without permission, after a crowd gathered during his video shoot. He was allowed to go with a warning after being advised regarding the law and order concerns.
