Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Five international students have taken admission to the five-year integrated programme in management (IPM) offered by Indian Institute of Management Indore.
They are part of IPM 2025–30 batch which was inducted on Wednesday in presence of institute director Prof Himanshu Rai.
“The new batch reflects a tapestry of diversity in academic backgrounds, gender, geography and global representation. With 156 students, including 151 domestic and 5 international candidates (from the USA, the UK and Australia), the cohort brings together perspectives from across India and abroad. The batch comprises of 57 females and 99 male participants, and showcases a healthy mix: 72 students come from a Commerce background, followed closely by 67 from Science (PCM), while others represent disciplines like Humanities, PCB, and interdisciplinary fields.
This interdisciplinary blend supports the IPM programme’s vision of nurturing versatile and well-rounded leaders,” a press release issued by IIM Indore said.
Geographically, the batch represents over 20 states and union territories, with the highest representation from Maharashtra (26), Uttar Pradesh (18), Madhya Pradesh (16), West Bengal (13), and Delhi (11).
Addressing the new entrants, Rai said, “True education begins with the recognition of our own ignorance. At IIM Indore, we encourage you to cultivate a mindset of curiosity, humility, and self-awareness. Don’t chase perfection; instead, strive for progress, and learn to navigate your path with purpose and empathy.”
He also urged students to schedule priorities rather than prioritise schedules. “There will always be more to do than time permits,” he noted. “What matters is clarity and knowing what’s urgent, what’s important, and what can wait.” He said.
Rai encouraged the new batch to take ownership of their learning experience, reminding them that growth often lies beyond one’s comfort zone. “Over the next five years, you will be pushed, questioned, and challenged—but also empowered, supported, and celebrated,” he added. “Use this platform to explore, build, and lead.”
Prof Aditya Maheshwari, chair – IPM, noted that the batch includes students from diverse academic backgrounds, ranging from commerce and science to humanities and the arts, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the programme.
He also shared that the IPM journey is a unique opportunity to develop not just as professionals, but as socially conscious leaders. “Our aim is to help you integrate knowledge across domains and apply it to solve real-world challenges, whether through startups, research, or impactful social initiatives”, he said.
