Sheriff of Las Vegas on Thursday (January 2) said that Tesla CEO Elon Musk provided important information and help in relation to Tesla cybertruck which was used in the explosion outside hotel owned by US President-Elect Donald Trump. The sheriff was speaking with reporters.
The cybertruck used in the explosion auto-locked after the explosives inside ignited. Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill said that Musk helped in unlocking the vehicle.
“I have to thank Elon Musk specifically,” McMahill said. “He gave us quite a bit of additional information in regards to how the vehicle was locked after it exploded”
In addition to getting the cybertruck unlocked, Musk also provided video of the suspect from charging station on Colorado-Las Vegas route, said media reports.
The cybertruck exploded outside Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday. It was in the valet area of the hotel. Driver of the vehicle was still inside the vehicle when the blast occurred, killing him. Seven others were injured in the explosion.
Musk was active on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) which he himself owns and reposted posts that suggested that Tesla cybertruck, though damaged, held its frame and contained the damage due to the explosives placed inside.
He even boasted that those who planed this attack ‘picked the wrong vehicle for terrorist attack’.
The police are investigating the blast further.
