Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the schedule for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections today (January 7) at 2 pm. The poll panel will hold a press conference where it will announce the full schedule. The term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly ends on February 23. This time, over 1.53 crore people are on the voter list. Out of the total voters, around 83 lakh are male voters and over 70 lakh are female voters.
Notably, voters whose names are not on the list cannot cast their votes. The list was released amid the ongoing war of words between the AAP and the BJP. In the 2020 polls, the AAP registered a landslide victory for the second consecutive time by winning 63 seats, while the BJP managed to bag only seven. The Congress again failed to open its account in Delhi in 2020.
