ECI To Publish Bengal Draft Electoral Rolls Today: The Election Commission of India has released the draft electoral rolls for West Bengal today, December 16. The poll body has published the draft electoral rolls after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. The authorities responsible for the election are busy completing the last-minute preparations. Officials said that the entire exercise is on track and will be completed within the given deadline.

According to ECI sources, the draft list was uploaded on the internal booth level officer (BLO) app. After getting the list, the field officials checked booth-wise voter data before the official release. Additionally, the office of Chief Electoral Officer has also activated websites on Tuesday which allows voters to check their details.

As per ECI, 5,820,898 voter names were deletion, which include around 24,16,852 dead voters, 1,988,076 electors who have either shifted permanently or migrated, 1,220,038 voters notified as missing, 1,38,328 identified as duplicate or bogus entries, and 57,604 names are in the deletion list due to “other reasons.”

The list has the names of the voters whose names were included in the electoral rolls of the state but were removed from the draft rolls of 2026.

Commission sources stated that the number of uncollectable SIR enumeration forms surpassed 58 lakh. These were removed as the voters were absent from their registered addresses, permanently shifted, were dead or were listed as duplicate voters in the constituencies.

“Aggrieved persons can submit their claims in Form 6 along with the Declaration Form and supporting documents after publication of draft roll during the period fixed for receiving claims and objections i.e. 16/12/2025 till 15/01/2026,” the commission website stated.

Elections for the 294-seat West Bengal Assembly are scheduled to be held in the first half of 2026.
