The ECI has asked Kishor to submit his explanation within three days regarding how his name has been registered in two states.
New Delhi: Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor’s name appears in the voter list of both Bihar and West Bengal, sources said. Following this revelation, BJP leader Amit Malviya targeted Prashant. However, Prashant Kishor has not yet responded to these allegations.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a show-cause notice to Prashant Kishor over this matter. According to the notice issued by the Returning Officer of the Kargahar Assembly Constituency (in Sasaram, Rohtas district, Bihar), Kishor is listed as a voter in Part 367 (Middle School, Konar, North Section) in Kargahar under polling booth number 621, with EPIC (voter ID) number 1013123718.
However, his name allegedly appears in the electoral roll of the Bhabanipur Assembly Constituency in West Bengal, with the polling station at St Helen School, B Ranishankari Lane.
What did BJP say?
Amit Malviya said, “Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor is a voter in both West Bengal and Bihar. Normally, if his party had a real presence in Bihar, this would have been a major controversy. But that is not the case, because Jan Suraj has no significance.”
Referring to the West Bengal voter list, the BJP alleged that his name is included in the 2025 final voter list for Kolkata’s Bhawanipur Assembly constituency, available on the Bengal CEO’s portal.

The ECI has asked Kishor to submit his explanation within three days regarding how his name has been registered in Bihar and West Bengal.
