Bangkok: Two massive earthquakes of over 7.0 magnitude struck Myanmar on Friday. Tremors were also felt in Bangkok and some parts of northeast India. An under-construction skyscraper collapsed in Thailand’s Bangkok due to the earthquakes.
The incident was caught on camera and dramatic visuals surface online. In the viral videos, the high-rise building could be seen collapsing. It created panic among the people. The viral video shows, people rushing to safer location as the building collapses.

As per reports, the Ava Bridge in Myanmar also collapsed after the massive earthquakes jolted the country.

The first earthquake of Myanmar struck Myanmar at around 12:05 pm (IST). As per the National Center for Seismology (NCR), The first earthquake of 7.2 magnitude of Richter scale hit Myanmar at a depth of 10 km. According to reports, the epicenter of the first quake was 16 kilometres (10 miles) northwest of the city of Sagaing. Tremors were felt across the nation. Tremors were also felt in the northeastern part of India and China.
The second earthquake jolted Myanmar 13 minutes later. The magnitude of the quake measured on Richter scale was 7.0, as per the NCS.
“EQ of M: 7.0, On: 28/03/2025 12:02:07 IST, Lat: 21.41 N, Long: 95.43 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Myanmar,” the NCS said in another X post.
Some reports even claimed that one of the earthquakes was of 7-7 magnitude. The epicentre of this quake was reportedly in central Myanmar, about 50 km east of the city of Monywa. So far there are no reports of any injuries or casualties. The extent of collateral damage is also not known.
