Shivaji Maharaj’s Benevolent Rule Is An Ideal Example For All Fields: Dr. Prakash Pawar at Shiv Jayanti Lecture In Aurangabad |

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s benevolent rule is the ideal example for every field, including politics, social, economics, education, religion, and security. His philosophy of Swarajya is the security of self, society, religion, and state,” opined intellectual and political thinker Dr. Prakash Pawar. He was delivering a lecture on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAM) on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Fulari presided over the event. Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Valmik Sarwade, Registrar Dr. Prashant Amrutkar, Management Council member Dr. Ravikiran Sawant, Dr. Aparna Patil, Students Welfare Director Dr. Kailas Ambhure, and others were present on the dais.

Dr. Pawar further said that the history and the era of Shivaji Maharaj should be studied through the welfare of the ryot approach. “Every time we study Shivaji, new aspects about his personality come to the fore. Before Shivaji, people were working as the feudatories of the kings. However, Shivaji, for the first time, gave the identity to the people and compelled them to think and be practical. When the idea of the Mughals was to praise terror and violence, Shivaji Maharaj lay stress on tolerance. He developed the practice of discussions and communication in his rule. It helped to encourage people’s participation in political affairs. He discarded the traditional ritualistic system and encouraged progressive and reformist thoughts. He was the real ideal for the freedom fighters who fought against the Britishers, and Shivaji Maharaj planted the seeds of independence for the first time.”

Dr. Fulari said that Shivaji Maharaj was the confluence of courage, responsibility, and faithfulness. Dr. Amrutkar said that the medieval period was known as the dark age, but Shivaji Maharaj established his rule despite several problems. Parag Hase conducted the proceedings of the function, while Dr. Ambhure proposed a vote of thanks.
