Shocking: Delhi woman’s chilling WhatsApp chats with lover during husband’s murder goes viral

New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Delhi where a 36-year-old man, who was believed to have died due to electrocution, was murdered. The case took a U-turn when police revealed that the man was killed by his own wife over her alleged extra-marital affair with his cousin. Both the accused conspired to present the murder as an accidental death. All this was revealed following the discovery of the chats between the accused wife and her lover. Police have arrested the accused woman and her lover.

What’s The Case?

Victim Karan Dev was rushed to Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital on July 13 by his wife, Sushmita. She claimed that Karan suffered an accidental electric shock. Doctors at the hospital declared Dev dead. His family didn’t go for the post-mortem as they believed Karan’s death was an accident, as reported by NDTV.

Why Police Forced For Autopsy?

Police had some confusion and insisted on the post-mortem, citing the circumstances of his death and his young age. However, Sushmita and her alleged lover, the deceased’s paternal cousin named Rahul, objected. The family later agreed to the autopsy, and the body was sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for post-mortem.

What Did Victim’s Brother Say To Police?

After three days of the incident, Karan’s younger brother, Kunal told police that he had a suspicion that Sushmita and their cousin murdered his brother, providing an Instagram chat between Sushmita and Rahul as evidence. The chat revealed that both Sushmita and Rahul had discussed the murder plan.

Chats Revealed

According to the chats accused by NDTV, Sushmita and Rahul mixed 15 sleeping pills in Karan’s dinner on July 12. They waited for the pills to take effect. Both the accused also googled the time it would take for the sleeping pills to cause death.

When Karan lay unconscious, Sushmita informed Rahul about it. But when the drug failed to show immediate effect, Rahul told Sushmita to give the victim a shock.

“Check once how long it does it takes to die after taking the medicine. It’s been three hours since he ate food. No vomiting. And no death yet either. Then what should we do, suggest something,” she texted Rahul as per the NDTV report.

Rahul, “If you can’t figure anything out, give him a shock.”

Sushmita asked, “How to tie him up for the shock?”

Rahul replied, “With tape.”

Sushmita texted, “He’s breathing very slowly.”

Rahul replied, “Give him all the medicine you have.”

Sushmita texted Rahul to come over as she cannot open Karan’s mouth to feed him medicines.

The Confession

Police say Sushmita told that she electrocuted the victim to make it appear accidental. After the murder, she informed the victim’s in-laws, who took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
