An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 struck Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Srinagar, Faridabad on Thursday, a statement by the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said. The epicentre of the earthquake was 4 km northeast of Jhajjar in Haryana and took place at a depth of 14 km. Many claimed thet felt the earthquake for about 10-15 seconds. One social media user posted on X, “It lasted a while even though apparently it’s only 4 on the richter”.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and no casualties or major damage have been reported so far. Residents are advised to stay calm and follow safety protocols.
