Deadside, the intense open-world third-person survival shooter, has finally landed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game has been developed by Bad Pixel and published by tinyBuild. It costs $24.99.

The game was initially launched in Early Access on PC via Steam in 2020 and the full release arrived in December 2024. Now console gamers can enjoy the game.

Deadside blends classic survival shooter mechanics with fast progression and plenty of loot. Your progress is defined purely by your survival skills and the equipment you manage to secure. One unique mechanic that keeps it interesting is that your character and loot disappear when you log off.

Players can choose between three different server types:

  • Player-Versus-Player (PvP) – The most intense mode, where players can raid bases, steal loot, and engage in brutal firefights with no restrictions.
  • Player-Versus-Environment (PvE) – A more relaxed experience, where combat is strictly against NPCs. This mode is ideal for newcomers looking to learn the game’s mechanics without the threat of enemy players.
  • Player-Versus-Player No Raids – A mix of both worlds, where players can engage in combat but cannot raid bases.

You have to fight to survive and secure your loot. The game offers an intuitive base-building system to let players create anything from small shacks to heavily fortified bunkers. Combat in the game seems realistic and tactical. There are 32 different firearms and players can also customize their weapons.

One of the biggest complaints about open-world survival games is the constant running. Deadside solves this problem by adding Vehicles and Fast Travel System.
