Delhi Weather: With mornings turning foggy and nights shivery, the national capital is gently sliding into winter, the best season of Delhi. But the winter season also comes with hazardous air pollution due to stagnant wind, stubble burning, and automobile pollution. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the mercury is expected to dip gradually in the coming days. The weather is likely to stay calm, cool, and mostly clear with little smog in the morning. The AQI level in many areas of Delhi has crossed 400, which falls in the severe category. The IMD has stated that the Cyclonic Storm Ditwah is rapidly moving toward the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh. A red alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu’s four districts. The state government has also issued an orange alert for five districts and has alerted the district authorities to prepare for the storm.

Delhi Weather: What Did IMD Say?
As per the weather department, the national capital Delhi will witness mainly clear sky on Saturday with a little smog in the early morning. The daytime temperatures are expected to hover around between 25°C and 27°C, while the nighttime mercury is expected to fall further around 10°C to 12°C. The wind flow is expected to remain light through the day and turn north-westerly in the daytime.
Delhi Weather: Air Quality
The air quality in the national capital and the adjoining National Capital Region (NCR) remained in ‘very poor’ category. Major areas in the capital city recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) close to 400. India Gate reported an AQI of 346, in ITO the AQI was 345, AQI in Anand Vihar was 358, and Dhaula Kuan area recorded 372, as per Central Pollution Control Board.

Cyclone Ditwah Update
Cyclone Ditwah wreaked havoc in Sri Lanka on Friday, killing more than 50 people. Several people are missing as the country continues to face severe weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that the cyclonic storm is rapidly moving toward the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh. Ditwah is expected to make landfall on Sunday. The dreadful natural phenomenon originated over the southwest Bay of Bengal near Pottuvil in Sri Lanka and is now moving north-northwest with high-speed winds. The weather department classified Ditwah as a cyclonic storm, with no prediction of it intensifying into a severe cyclone. Meanwhile, India has started Operation Sagar Bandhu to help Sri Lanka by providing humanitarian assistance to the affected island nation. The Tamil Nadu government has issued a red alert for its four districts. The state government has also issued an orange alert for five districts and has alerted the district authorities to prepare for the storm.
