Madhya Pradesh: CMO’s Notice To SHG For Running Wheat Purchase Centre From Stadium | Report published in Free Press (Right)

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): Chief municipal officer Shailendra Pratap Singh has sought an explanation from the Bajrang women’s self-help group for running a wheat procurement centre at Maharaj Ram Dev Singh Judeo stadium.

The CMO’s reaction came in the wake of a report published in Free Press on its Sunday edition of April 20, 2025.

The report highlighted how the stadium built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh has been in ruins because of the wheat procurement centre and lack of care.

After its construction, the collector of Satna district handed over the stadium to Nagar Parishad of Unchehara for maintenance.

After the publication of the report, CMO inspected the site and sought an explanation from Bajrang self-help group which is running the procurement centre.

In the letter, CMO said because of the procurement centre, sports activities almost stopped.

Heavy vehicles with wheat enter the stadium and destroy the trees planted on the premises of the stadium, Singh said.

He wanted a reply from the self-help group within 24 hours after receiving the letter.

A notice has been issued to the women’s self-help group, and if it fails to give a suitable reply, they will face disciplinary action, Singh said.
