The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Monday extended tribute to the Ironman of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his 75th death anniversary. He attended a public event at Lucknow and highlighted the role of Patel in India’s freedom struggle.

What did CM Yogi say?

The Chief Minister said, “Today, the entire country is remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and expressing gratitude for his services to the nation. He was born into an ordinary farmer’s family, acquired higher education, the purpose behind which was not to take up a job in the foreign regime but to dedicate the benefits of his talent at the feet of Mother India by understanding the country and the world.

He added, “He led the freedom movement, endured the tortures of jail many times. He strongly opposed the partition of India as well.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the Ironman too. He said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had dedicated his life to uniting India. He also added that our country will always remember his grand contribution to building a strong and undivided India.
