The Indian diplomat said that India has been suffering for a long time from the activities of terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed operating in Pakistan. Even after this, when Pakistan, the center of terrorism, says that it is trying to deal with the terrorists, then it nothing but ‘supreme irony.’

India talks tough at UNSC, attacks Pakistan for terrorism, says, ‘Supreme irony when…’

India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations P. Harish made a strong statement in response to the statement of Pakistan’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The Pakistani minister had mentioned Jammu and Kashmir in a debate on improving global governance. After this, when it was India’s turn, P. Harish assertively described Pakistan as the center of global terrorism. He said, “Pakistan is the global center of terrorism. More than 20 such terrorist organizations are running from his place, which are included in the banned list of the United Nations.”

He added, “It is the biggest irony in the world when Pakistan says that it will fight or is fighting terrorism. India has been suffering from terrorism emanating from Pakistan for a long time. Organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen are active from its land.”

P Harish comments came after Dar claimed that Jammu and Kashmir dispute is another open wound. Dar said, “The Jammu and Kashmir dispute is another open wound and an ever-present threat to international peace and security. For almost eight decades, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have confronted brutal foreign occupation and been denied their right to self-determination, as prescribed by multiple UN Security Council resolutions.”

P Harish added, “Hence it is a supreme irony when Pakistan pats itself on the back as being at the forefront of the fight against terrorism. India has been a victim of acts of terror perpetrated by this country through terror groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Harkat Ul Mujahidin, among dozens of others.”
