The DRDO conducted the trial of Nag Mk 2 missile on January 13 in Pokhran. As per Ministry of Defence, it is the ‘third-generation anti-tank fire-and-forget guided missile.’
The Defence Research and Development Organisation or DRDO had successfully conducted the trial of the indigenous Nag Missile Mk 2. The trial was conducted on January 13 at the Pokhran Field Range. Nag Mk 2 is a third-generation anti-tank missile that operates on the ‘fire-and-forget’ principle, which means once the target is locked, the missile itself destroys it. During the trial, the missile successfully took off and precisely hit targets at both close and long ranges. Additionally, the Nag Missile Carrier (Version 2) was also evaluated. The complete weapon system is all ready to be inducted into the Indian Army.
Nag Mk 2: A Precision Missile
The DRDO conducted the trial of Nag Mk 2 missile on January 13 in Pokhran. As per Ministry of Defence, it is the ‘third-generation anti-tank fire-and-forget guided missile.’ During the trial, the missile successfully destroyed targets, proving its precision capability. Defence experts said that during the tests, the ‘Nag Missile Carrier’ (Version 2) was also evaluated.
Rajnath Singh Congratulated DRDO
The Ministry of Defence, in a statement on Monday said that the guided missile trial was successfully conducted at the Pokhran Field Range in the presence of senior Indian Army officials. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO and Indian Army on the successful trials of the Nag Mk 2 weapon system.
A Threat to Enemies
