The viral video was posted on Instagram by @truefacthindi and has already reached more than 22 million views and 120K+ likes with hilarious comments from netizens. The video shows different women frying slippers in oil and on the roaster, stacking up fried slippers on the counter and foodie customers waiting around for their order.
The background voice in the video claims that it is from China but reports says this ‘fried slipper’ snack originated in Malaysia.

Netizens are claiming that the video is AI generated clip and such snack doesn’t exist anywhere. Though GPlus could not confirm the veracity of the video. A report by News 18 says that, these are fried dumplings, made in slipper shape, filled with a mixture of meat (chicken, beef, or mutton), potatoes, onions, and local spices. The filling is wrapped in a thin layer of dough and deep-fried until golden and crispy.
